I've owned the vehicle less than a year and I've already had 3 door dents fixed. Does anyone else on this forum think the NX sheet metal is paper thin?
Absolutely. The hood deflects under light hand pressure. I've got all my previously reported damages fixed, so now I keep it parked far away whenever I can.
that looks worse than a knick. Looks like someone dropped something heavy there, or something REALLY hot was pushed against that.
Not really sure, I guess I didn't pay too much attention to what I had put in it. I often throw my leather wallet and iPhone with TPU case in there, but I take them out when I exit the car. Sunglasses go in the door compartment.
The Lexus dealer wouldn't warranty it, since it was physical damage. It isn't just the bezel, but the entire console (400$+). o well, ill see if i can make that blemish into something functional hehe
So the neighbor kids thought my NX and my Kia would make excellent target practice for rocks... The Kia needs a new windshield, and the NX needs to get this buffed out. Anyone have a rough idea what it would take in terms of money? My deductible is $250 for compressive, but if prefer to pay out of pocket. This can't possibly be more than like 1-150, right?
Anyone think about getting those license plate bumper guards?
4bumper duo on Amazon
They seem to work well for bumpers but the NX has the plates on the front grill and back gate. Think the grill and back gate would get damaged if it were pushed in too hard. I need something as I'm living in NY though. Any suggestions?
The dealer was offering gold package w dent/dings and tire/wheels, replacement keys etc free if I got the extended warranty but I can't drop around 2-3k...
I would definitely buy this if the license plate was on the bumper.
the next best thing is to put on a nice and long tow hitch.

MikeW83, if you have some DIY in you, try a scratch repair kit. I've used on my IS the mass market Turtle Wax version you can find at Walmart or most anywhere else and does the job 95% like new. You will need Lexus OEM touchup paint. For under $20 and 1-2 hours of my time was worth it for me.
Thanks Corrado!
I just don't know if I trust myself with that lol
I bought the drill and did my yellowed headlights on my ES with a 3M kit, but that's just rubbing compound. Is it that easy to do with touch up paint? I've never tried anything like this before...

You're welcome. Remember, as a worst case, you spent 15$ and a bit of your time while understanding more about what you may (or may not) be good at. If you're not satisfied, then go the body shop route and I agree that it shouldn't be more than 125-150$ for blend-painting the side only (no need to paint the whole bumper IMO)
As for the headlights on your ES, next time, no need for those dedicated 25-30$ headlight kits. Get your micro-polish paste or wax cleaner paste you might have lying around, apply on the haze and and polish with a MF cloth. I did that on my HS headlights and look new again.
Just a dumb question, with all these stories of a car parked into the bumper, a mommy banging her door into the car, neighbor kids tossing rocks etc etc. Did any of you call the cops? If some one dents my car in a parking lot, and who ever does its going to stay there with me for how long it takes the cops to get there, if they leave its a hit and run.
They will learn a valuable lesson NOT to hit someones car.
