Default How to manually release parking brake when battery is dead

Here is my situation. The battery in my NX300 is dead. There is no space in my garage to bring another car by the side of the NX300 so that the jumper cables can reach and do a jump start. So I have no other choice than to push the NX300 out of the garage and after that, get a jump start. I have figured out how to disengage the gear shift lever from 'P' to Neutral. But the car is not budging even with 3 people pushing it, presumably because the parking brake is engaged.

Please let me know how to disengage the electronic parking brake with no power at all and no jump start possible in the car's current position.

Just grab the battery out of the other vehicle and swap it into the NX temporarily. Alternatively, get longer jumper cables or get a battery powered jump pack or a 12v charger.

Manually releasing the parking brakes requires either a special harness connector to tie in an auxiliary power source anyway...or you need to remove the wheels, remove the actuator and then actuate manually.

Buy a Jump box. They come in handy

If this may be something that happens due to low use, I would recommend getting a trickle charger to keep connected (it'll fix this current situation as well if you're not tight on time - assumes you have an outlet handy).

Or, those lithium portable battery jumpers. I had a low use RAV4 and would drain battery (didn't want to troubleshoot $$$ that) and the tiny battery pack worked just great several times.

And another tip for the future, park backwards to give you access next time.

I assume you still have roadside assistance from Lexus?

Thanks for all the replies. I'll call roadside assistance. Seems like a fatal flaw not to have a manual override.

Fatal flaw? Hardly...every electronic parking brake behaves the same way. Just use an alternative 12v source, not hard.
