Default SoCal Engine Shops

Does anyone know a shop around the southern california area that does or is familiar with 1jz-gte swaps? If so, around how much would it run and how long is the downtime? I've heard prices ranging from $4500-$5500 and 1-1.5 week downtime. any info is appreciated. thanks in advance.

I do NOT recommend spark racing. They do some half-assed mickey mouse work. I know from experience and from my friends' cars as well.

4500-5500? 1.5 week downtime?!? Daaaaaaamn that is dirt cheap and quick!! Times have certainly changed since I did my swap.

Kaotiq,

I was wondering how much your friend who installed yours would charge to install a 1jz and if he is available.
