Default Snow Tires?

A question for WA residents, in light of this crazy weather lately, I have been contemplating on whether I should invest in some snow tires for my IS350, do you think it is worth it for the amount of snow fall we "usually" get?

What are other people doing? Maybe all season tires is the better way to go?

Thanks,

+1 for Bridgestone Blizzak

Check out reviews for it. Everybody loves their blizzaks.

Yeah, Blizzaks were what I was going to go with - so you think dedicated snow tires are the way to go and then change them out in the spring time?

Actually, the last time we had some heavy snow, we had a discussion as to what our options are to defend ourselves against this weather.

Option A - snow tires / studded tires
Option B - buy a 'beater / commuter' and drive that around.

and Option C - rent a car for a week. The rationale behind this is that even with snow tires or studded tires or even a 'beater', you may be able to control your car better or may not care as much if something happened to your beater, but you still run the risk of having someone run into you. The cost of renting a vehicle for a week + insurance turned out to be about 140-150 bucks a week, I believe.

In my opinion, option C seems like the best option.

Hmm ... an option C, huh? I'll give that some thought. Thanks for your input, Woogie!

Option C sounds pretty good, but where can you rent an SUV for $140 a week?
As for snow tires, will the blizzaks get us around in the weather we've had lately with little effort? Would studded tires be a better option?

Let me know what you think of the Blizzaks if you get them for your 350, because I was considering getting some for me 250. I hate this weather.
