Lightbulb Detailers or Employees at Lexus Dealerships

Hey guys I'm not over here at CL much, mostly LOC, but I like this local chapter.

I own my own detail shop over in Port Angeles, WA. "Prestige Auto Detailing". Been in business for over a year. Doing ok, but I could be doing a lot better, and my hopes of establishing a higher end clientel aren't looking so good. So I'm thinking about a Lexus Dealership..

I know some people work at Lexus of Bellevue , Seattle, or Tacoma at Fife, so if anyone can give me some info.. I would greatly appreciate it.

How are the detailing jobs there set-up? Are they 9-5 type? Or by the job. Are there any openings? Will there be any available openings this fall?

I am professionally trained and certified, and would prefer not to start out at the bottom of the totem pole..

I may be forgetting some questions.. but anyways..

I thank you all in advance for any information at all.

hey, i work at the bellevue dealership. i dont know too much about the detailing area here, but from what ive heard, they always start at an hourly rate, then move up to getting paid per car. again, thats only what ive heard from some of the guys working up there. not sure about openings, but definitely would look into giving them a call. its "iden's detail" or something like that.

jcrome04...First mistake is that you have a shop in BFE(Butt*****edEgypt). Out there, they drive trucks, so no one gets there trucks detailed. You need to move your shop, where there is more business.
How much do you charge interior, exterior etc... and for packages?

int $150
ext $150
int/ext/eng $250

pretty much just the same as other detail shops, and a lot of other things.

PA isn't really BFE and there are a lot of nice cars. Just not as big of demand as in a big city.

I've been thinking a lot lately about working some kind of line of security... but... we'll see what happens with this crap.

Do you send out discounts to draw people in. I dont mean, discounts everyday, more like spring discount, April only. Or something down that line.

I dont know how you work or what kind of clients you have. Im just shooting out ideas to help keep your business going. Only if you lived closer, I would contribute to you

Lexus of Bellevue sure as hell could use an actual GOOD detailer! They have screwed up a few of my friend's cars in the past.

I knew some people who worked at Iden back in the day. They're hearts definitely weren't into detailing. They were just doing it for the dough.
