That seems to be the trend nowadays. I ordered a scope mount for my rifle 3 weeks ago and it was supposed to be here in "3-5 work days."

Snow made it bad for packages. Had one to be here on the 19th, delayed till the 20th, then "emergency conditoins" on the 22, 23, and 24th, and now "suspended" till further notice. It was only coming from california!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Dont get me started about shipping problems. I work at UPS and you have no clue of all the stories I've heard. Everyone stuff is just sittin in the yard in retainer trailers becuase the drivers couldnt get half of it out because of the snow. In good conditions they dont even get done until 10pm during december but with the snow there was A LOOOOTTTTTTTT of stuff that came back to the building and was just thrown in trailers until we can get caught back up and the snow melts. Theres 40 trailers that were set off to the side until we start unloading them on monday-wednesday. And with us having 2 days off this week (31/Jan.1) we probably wont be caught up until Friday the 2nd. My friend and I had a package that was sent from Newport Oregon (1 day for ground) and its been a week and 2 days and its still just sitting in a retainer trailer.
Anywho, I got winter wheels (Supra TTs), LED light kit for interior, and my moms paying for shipping so I can trade a guy in Canada my GS300 lights for his Aristo lights

Dude, I F'in HATE my work with a passion. Mainly the people that run it. I called the 2nd highest supervisor in the whole building a spineless piece of **** that needs to grow some ***** one day because they screwed me out of 200$ on a paycheck by using "choice words". Management there is nothing more then "legal" hustling. They use words like "I think" "pretty sure" so they can tell you one thing then go back on their word later. Im seriously surprised I haven't knocked one in the jaw yet. I almost did one day thought, me and the same supervisor who I said had no ***** got in a shoving match one day because he tried to deny me the right to go to the bathroom to deescalate the argument we were in. I F'ING HATE UPS. I will never ship through them if I had the choice. Not only that, they lie so much to customers and are able to cover it up. You know how many packages a day im forced to tumble down stairs or step on because they wont provide me with enough workers and volume just gets jammed up everywhere because all they care about is keeping everyone under a certain amount of hours not caring at all how the work gets done. Ive talked to 2 holiday helpers (people they hire after October so they can fire them right when xmas is over....union contract related) who were trained to throw bags of smalls (bags with small packages/envelopes in them) over this railing straight onto the return belt (vs. dropping them down the underslide and having someone else SET them on the belt) which is a 5 foot drop. Supervisors there and the most cold hearted, shallow, arrogant, cheap, lying sacks of $h1t I know.

Well, thats good to know... too bad some stores contact with certain companies to do all their shipping. USPS doesn't always do much better, especially with hatching eggs labeled fragile. People some times pay $100+ for 6 quality eggs, and despite miles of padding and wraping, some how end up with broken eggs, smashed boxes, and scrambled yolks that can't be hatched into a chick.

Honestly, It doesnt matter what you write on the box. To the employee its just another box, doesnt affect them if it shows up to the buyer screwed up. Its just another box making their day harder. Thats just the way it is. "This side up" means nothing, "fragile" means nothing, "time sensitive" means nothing, thats just the shipper wasting time and ink. I like to say it depends on the "fate" of the package. You have to make sure you OVER-DO the packing everytime. Build a wooden cube/brace for inside the package if its that fragile. Double box it, ENGULF the box in tape, dont use newspaper for stuffing...use air packets. Its the harsh reality of shipping. Once the package leaves your hands, its just another package, whats inside is usually of no concern, unless you pay for "high value" shipping which still can fall off the cart and be ran over by the wheels or stepped etc if the person moving the package isnt paying attention. You just have to do all you can to leave no chance. I'd rather pay 50$ more then I need to on shipping (extra weight making it bulletproof) then have it show up damaged. As a matter a fact, I have a box of receipt paper rolls that have been on my slide at work for nearly a year now that I use to hold this metal thing from swinging in my way, they were intended for Nordstroms but never made it. Things sometimes get lost forever in the building, something that fall out of packages sometimes get mixed up with peoples personal belongings and thrown away/taken home. Ive seen bags of candy bars that were just sitting on the side and wasnt sure if I supervisor brought them for us (sometimes they do) or not so I ate some but they very well could have been from a box that was taped back up and sent on its way w/o the candy bars.
Moral of the *****ing, BULLETPROOF YOUR BOXES, when you say "I think thats good enough"....its not, tape/pad more more more more more. Yes some packages make if fine but some DO get TORN TO SHREDS (LITERALLY). Have you ever had a package get to its destination in a different box it left it? Ive had to do that before, put contents into a new box because the box is just falling apart and ends up in multiple pieces. BOYCOTT UPS. I try to stick with FedEX or USPS for really small stuff.

So... if I have this package that has been still delayed from the 19th of this month.. and I want/need to pick it up before I leave town on the 2nd.... (I thought ordering on the 16th it would have gotten here)... can I call the UPS in the Everett area (Last scan on the tracking thing) to go find it and pick it up? Is that something they do? Luckily this package is just some tactical gloves, and not a living animal.
