From my understanding (I'm not a mechanic so someone jump in if I am wrong) but an aftermarket fuel pump will push more fuel or the amount of fuel from the gas tank to the injectors. So that way your car won't lean out if your boosting at a higher PSI. Because if your leaning out too much you might make the HP you want or up to but your engine will deteriorate quicker due to knocking and so forth. That is why most time when people go turbo/supercharging they upgrade their fuel rails/pump/injectors. Also with an aftermarket Fuel Filter you might need larger injectors but depending on what the stock sizes are and how much they can handle sometimes you can get away with it. More fuel + more air = more power/hq/torque. Hope that helps Yogi! whew my brain hurts

the 255 stands for 255 liters per hour that the pump can move. Its common to upgrade your fuel pump after a engine swap (think SR20 swap) because the stock pump doesn't move as much fuel as a 255 lph pump would. Its not an absolutely necessary upgrade for some engine setups if you are keeping everything stock, but after if you were to go from a 370cc injector to a 550cc injector it wouldn't work very well at all.

oh idk that. all i knew is that the 4g63 can take some punishment but didn't know it could hold together with that kinda boost. How much psi can the stock snail run for prolonged periods of time?

The evo's 16g "evoIII +" has been known and track proven to hold 30psi solid. But that is maxing it out. So thats why its safer to keep it more around 24-28psi
