good mechanic in seattle for a timing belt replacement?
Need to do the timing belt on my 02 ES300. Greg's Japanese Auto quoted me ~$900 for the belt and the other associated things (water pump etc) and Lexus of Seattle says ~$1500. Any other suggestions?

Titus-Will Toyota in Tacoma does Lexus stuff too. For their best mechanic ask for Rick. The man has been refered to as god in the various toyota communities and has had his hands in many a Lexi (including my own) as well. Wont be as cheap as $650 but quality OEM parts and mechanics. My guess is it'll be closer to Greg's price. And no I do not work at Titus-Will just in case people thought I was making a shameless plug lol.

I have a couple friends that, up until very recently, worked for Toyota before going to other shops. They're certified Master Techs and have done everything from a S/C on a 4Runner to you-name-it. They do alot of sidejobs, usually for less than 1/2 what most shops charge. If anyone is interested in a referral, just shoot me a PM with details.

asfolxs- Are you talking about the Gregs Jap. auto in north Kirkland (technically Bothell) between 100th and Juanita-Woodinville road? If so, I wouldnt go to them. I've gone once but they tried taking me for my money by changing pricing on things when it was time to pay. It's been 6 years or so since the inncident and I dont remember all the details but my dad was with me at the time (I was 16 at the time and he wanted to be there to "supervise") and he flew off the hook at this guy because he was trying to up the prices last minute.

my sister's 99 gs400 needs the 90k service...we can't be spending over $2k for the service at the dealer.
Any referrals to shops around Tacoma, please pm me.
