WA: I need help shaving my fenders!?!?!
I have been thinking of going the roller route, or the shaved route. And I decided to go with the shaved route. Since I plan on going with wider wheels, than what I already have now.
I was wondering if anyone can help me shave my rear fenders, so that my wheels/tires dont get chewed up. And my body doesnt look all beat up.
No experience to experienced person is a go!!

You should get the wheels or tires and put then on the car first to see how much more space you need. I recommend you roll the fenders but if the wheels are still too wide and extreme, then shave the fenders. Shaving should be your last resort.

basically all you are doing is cutting the inside lip of the fender off, i had this done on my car before paint, as a cutting wheel on metal creates heat which in turn can eff up the paint, not a difficult job but it can get messy. anything else other than a cut off wheel ie tin snips ect.. can bend the sheet metal causing the paint to crack. i agree w/drksyde fit wheels first then see what needs to be done, cutting the fender out will only give you so much room, if it needs to be more then you will have to roll the fender out to get the flare you need to fit the wheel/tire.

Ahhh!! That sucks, because I just remembered that one of my rear well lip has been bondo'd. Its about 6" from the rear bumper
So fender rolling in any situation, outside the body shop is a nono
Okay, so who wants to help? And I will need to cut off 3/8" of the lip, but maybe more
I have the wheels, and the tires will be mounted on wednesday.

lol, or you can be gangsta like me and get a urethane hammer and bang the crap outta the fender and chip off the paint on the inside. All because you just wanna fit some more aggressive wheels on your car. lol. You'll see what i mean on Saturday. Other then that it looks fine on the outside.

get a hold of a cutting wheel (rent one) and I got the compressor. If all you want to do is shave the lips its no biggie. Tape and patience and touch up paint gets the job done.

There's also the cutting/rolling combo. My buddy did it to his NSX and basically all he did was cut out little triangular bits from the wheel well (the part that needs to be rolled) and bend the sections back until he felt comfortable with the space. Hard to explain but it turned out great on his car, and maybe you could avoid that bondo patch as well.

That doesnt sound like a bad idea at all im considering these options too for my ls4 only problem cutting on mine is its a double walled fender which after cutting exposes the middle to the elements and there for can cause Rust issues im it stays unsealed :[
