Default Vegas and Scorpions

So I was cleaning my house, minding my own business once again, when I fell something odd under my foot, and it happens to be the 5th scorpion I'v found since moving out here, 2nd in my house. So is this normal? does everyone else enjoy having bark scorpions chill with them?

Maybe you've got this attraction to scorpions.

In my 12 years of living here I've only seen 1 baby scorpion but they are more deadly. Usually its in new home communities where there is construction that disturbs them.

Wow. I was worried about scorpions also, but luckily haven't come across any.

Just cause you don't see them doesn't mean that they are not there.

You should collect them...and make them fight for money.

Or you could just sell the rest of your cars.

I'v been thinking about starting to collect them! The black "Desert" scorpion is chill and not really dangerous, and its a native, but these brown, light color "Bark" ones I guess are deadly. But talk about a home security system huh? Who needs dogs!

When I lived in NV (Carson City though, not Vegas) the problem wasn't scorpions - it was black widow spiders. Those things seemed to be pretty pervasive and where you least expected them (building stuff under the bottoms of chairs etc).

I'v only had one Widow here, but black widows were common when I was in CA. I learned how to hunt those down. At least they make a web you can spot, scorpions just roam about.

Just found another one while walking to bed
And the pest guy was just here 3 days ago.... Is this ever going to let up?

Take a look!

I used that spray right when I saw it and it was dead within 20 mins. The problem is that they are the same color as my carpet, and impossible to spot.

Here is a penny next to it, this thing is tiny!

The best way to keep them out of the house is to try and figure out how they are getting in. Then seal the hole. It took me a while, but once I got it sealed we only have them in the yard now.
Buy a UV light and you will have no problem seeing them in the dark...they glow bright green. I go out in the yard about one night a week and hunt them down with the blacklight and kill them. Like David said I got 4 the other night. Last summer the total was well over 100.
Now that's pest control.
