The Gumball 3000 (http://www.gumball3000.com) rally is leaving SF April 17th.
Anyone interested in carvanning out to SF and checking out the Exoticas the evening before?
Perhaps drinks and appetizers @ Blowfish or Ozumo and then check out the Fairmont (which is where I think they're starting from).

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2003--Film stars, rock stars, sports stars and billionaires will converge at The Fairmont San Francisco April 16-17 to participate in the fifth annual Gumball 3000 - recognized as "the most glamorous rally ever staged," by NBC News. This year, Pink and her fiance, motorcross champion Cary Hart, will participate in the world-class auto event.
Starting atop *** Hill at The Fairmont, the 160 drivers of Gumball 3000 will explore the streets of San Francisco, as did Steve McQueen in the movie "Bullet," and then traverse the Golden Gate Bridge to travel six days and 3000 miles to the finish line in Miami.
Starting at noon on April 16, a collection of rare Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Bentleys and other unique cars will be displayed on Mason Street in front of The Fairmont. The rally will officially commence on April 17 at approximately 9 p.m. after the 160 cars, including a Porsche sponsored by Fairmont, parade through the streets of San Francisco, with Mayor Willie Brown leading the star-studded procession.

my last effort to get some Lexus representation....I got some of the Supras, VWs, and Vettes to show:
A few of us are gathering on Thurs, Apr 17th, at the Starbucks on Mary/Fremont Ave. to head up to SF to see the Gumball 3000 rally take off!
Meet time is 4:30PM to be in SF by 6PM. Trying to round up video cams for some cool footage of some 'spirited' driving up 280!
7PM is a parade around SF with the green flag being dropped at 9PM!

We're meeting around 4:30 PM today at:
Starbucks Coffee Co
1291 S Mary Ave
Sunnyvale, CA
for the hell of it, i went up to SF last nite and checked out the cars. all were very impressive! about half were imported right-hand drive models, ie. very exotic, RUFs, Lambos, Ferraris. Anyone who's into nice cars will not be disappointed.

Anyone manage to check it out? I went on the Gumball last year (2002). Didn't manage to make it this year.
Check out my site for some pics / videos of the 2002 Rally. We drove the red S4 last year. Gumball wouldn't let me in with my 92 LS400, so had to find another car!
