Charity is great but we have to see where it will go. The fire ravaged owners of multi-million dollar mansions living up in the hills with a 180 deg. ocean views that will probably rebuild to have twice the size of their burned palaces even before insurance money comes or to little old lady owners of mobile homes...just a thought

I live in san diego and i came close to my home..
But i dont want the fire to be linked with teh CL meet... if you want to have some kind of donation. then go ahead and take initiative. I just dont see the connection between this meet and the fire.

So Cal CL is a part of greater community in where we live. Since both LA and SD are both affected by recent fire events, as a member of this community, we should have some kind of responsibilities.
I know that there is a donation drive started by a SD local radio station Star 100.7 for San Diego Red Cross that is designated for the fire victims only. With all the monies that are collected from CL members, CL officials can deliver the donation to the RED Cross on behalf of all the CL members.
I cannot speak for every SD CL members here, however, I believe that there is a sense of community among us who are bonded with common interests. As a group, we should be able to contribute somewhat to our communities.
Meet is great, we can always make it more meaningful.
