Default What is needed to make 1992 1uz from sc400 work in a 1996 sc400

I went with 92 for the thicker rods, I know things are different I transferred all the 96 engine parts onto the 92 motor (manifold cross member injectors throttle body etc) using 96 harness and loom all electronics from 96 sc. engine has fuel good compression but will not start. Car cranks very healthy like it wants to start so bad but just won’t. Not getting spark Ecu won’t communicate. Grounds and all connectors are good. No spark past ignitors, even if I give ground to ignitors to activate coil pack they still won’t fire thinking it’s a signal issue from ecu got to get it tested. Ecu shows its present by the CEL illuminated on the dash. Let me know if I missed anything/ need to do anything.

There are a handfull of differences between OBD 1and OBD2.. You will need to look up the wiring on both ECUs.. You may need access to the Toyota maintenance site and download as much as you can.. Its a 2 day access for like $40 or $60. 2 weeks is like $300 I may be exaggersting, or may be way more.... I do believe from 93 to 95 there were lime 13 or 15 differences that needed to be rewired. You may not be getting a correct signal to start.

Look at the wiring diagram for the ECU. You will have to go line by line and see which are different from each other. You will also need to find out how to ground out certain systems that are not available on the 1st gen 1UZ. You can probably buy a harness pre-wired from CartuneNZ on Youtube. describe what you're doing and pay him to send you a harness so that you can just plug and play. Otherwise splicing and grounding will probably be a chore in the long run.

If you google this term right here: 92 sc400 ecu pinout
There will probably be a lextreme link, you can try to read what they have there, but for me it was easier to download the manual's diagram which numbered plugs and you could compare both. If I can find my diagrams, I will post them or send them your way. I won't have the 96 diagram, but I have a 95, since I have a spare 95 ECU and my intention was to splice it onto mine while I had my ECU serviced, and I moved, so that I could still move my car on and off the trailer.
