1997 Soarer with 2jzte no start Help

Default 1997 Soarer with 2jzte no start Help

I imported a nice Soarer about 3 weeks ago with the the factory R154 and a 2jzgte swap. Car ran amazing until last week. It cranks but wont start. If I try to crank it the next day it almost starts for like a split second then it just cranks. New battery. I did the 12v fuel ecu mod and it has spark. I can hear the fuel pump come on but thats all I did to check fuel. Just filled up gas so its full. I checked grounds, plugs etc.. and don't see anything wrong. I have a new Walboro 255l coming in this week and replace that but not sure what else to check. Haven't looked at a bad ecu or anything yet. Also could it be an Immobilizer ? I don't see any lights on the dash for that and not even sure if I have one on this. I have the original key

Th 92-00 generation SC and 91-00 generation Z30 Soarer do not come with immobilizers from the factory. I wouldn't bet on that being your issue... although being a custom swap only detective work will determine every aspect of how the swap was performed in Japan before you bought the car.

You should check the health of the GTE igniter unit and ECU that the car is running. Usually igniters seldom if ever go bad unless there is a drastic issue with grounding somewhere on the ignition circuit. More likely the ECU may be due for new capacitors. Do you have a spare 2JZ-GTE ECU of the same part number to try in place of the one currently installed? Or do you have access to a friend's standalone ECU that will plug-and-play which you could test your car with?

Those are just the most likely things to check. Not knowing your swap there could be something else going on which goes into more general diagnosis.

Thank you, I don't know anyone with and ecu I could use. I've decided to bring it to a shop so I'll update what the issue is.
