Im almost out of ideas on what could be wrong with my car. I did a water pump and timing belt job on it and it ran fine for a few days and then one morning it just wouldn't start. After hours and hours of myself trying to diagnose it I sent it to a shop and they are pretty stumped too after checking everything including fuel pump, distributor, IAC, everything. He just replaced the MAF in the car because we suspected a faulty MAF and it changed nothing. The car will run fine for 5-10 minutes with the MAF unplugged and then just shut off randomly, when the MAF is plugged in the car just misfires and stutters and dies. Does anybody have any ideas at all? I need this car to work and get to school and things are getting really tight with the car being down so long any ideas or comments would be really appreciated, thank you Club Lexus.

Ok. I had to look up your previous post to see what type of car you have. It would be useful in the future to post year and model. Misfiring may be a variety of things. Did you have issues previous to the water pump? Is the battery old? Have you gotten the ECU rebuilt?
I would check your spark plugs, wires, coils, cold fuel injector. Try jumping the diagnostics port for fueling. Try jumping the fuel ECU or fuel ECU mod. Step at a time at least, so you can check stuff off and don't end up stranding yourself. Did you get your old MAF back? Word is these cars don't like aftermarket MAFs.
