Default Auto 1jz ecu to r154

hey all, i’ve been going back-and-forth with deciding on what trans to use on my 1jz swapped sc400, i have officially decided to go with a r154.

My question is i want to use the auto 1jz ecu on the r154, how do i wire this up?
i’ve heard of people just unplugging things but they never say what needs to be unplugged.

well, the 1jz auto engine harness has auto transmission plugs that cannot plug into the R154; so these are what get left unplugged. Pretty much there are two things on the R154, reverse sensor and speed sensor. The R154 can come with either the manual cable driven speedometer or electronic speed sensor.

You can look at the wiring diagrams for your 1jz auto harness and figure out where your reverse light is, and the auto harness should have the electronic speed sensor plug and that should plug directly in if you have a marlin adapter (cable to electronic signal) or original toyota electronic speed sensor.
