Default My shifter can freely move when driving

My shifter in my automatic sc400 doesn't lock when switching gears so when I'm driving I can just move it to other gears without pressing the button on the shifter or being on the brake. this wasn't an issue until recently I was messing around and doing "donuts" and someone who was in the passenger seat bumped the car into neutral while I was driving and this has me worried that at any time it can be bumped into reverse or park and destroy my transmission. The shifter only locks when the car goes into park however if i simply push it to park i cant take my key out this is another issue that I have no clue why it happens but i have to give the shifter an extra push for it to lock into park and then the shifter works as intended it will only move if you press on the button of the shifter and the brakes. if any can give me some advice on fixing this it'd be greatly appreciated.
