DIY Turbo for SC300
Hey Gang,
I am seen few SC300 in meets and friends have it. I was wondering have anyone try to take out the stock header and turn it upsidedown and redrill the holes for mounting. Once you flip it upsidedown, you can cut it shorter to weld on a T3 or T4 flange in and bolt on a single turbo like T62 or similar.
Since the I6 have some much room, this can be done a welding shop or muffler shop. The first step is done, then IC and pipings... low boost run a FMU and have fun. I would say this project will cost less than $2500 with about 7-8 psi

Since its not a complete kit, therefore its not a really good deal than. My eyes opened and jaw dropped when i saw the price.
Here is my break down on DIY Kit:
*Flipping the header (if drilling require) = $200
*Turbo (used or new with internal waste gate) from 150-700
*Down Pipe =$100
*Intercooler 600-800
*BOV = 100-200
*Oil Lines and fittings =$100
*MAF Adapter = 30
* Hoses and clamps = 100
*Custom pippings = 150
*FMU = 250
For about $2000 to $2300, you can get a complete kit and you will have the joy saying you did it yourself.
