a supratt exhaust will NOT work on a SC300... it will work on a na supra, thats it...

lets not get the man confused

a nice custom dual 3" y-pipe from the midpipe is nice with two straight-through mufflers; dont get ANYTHING with baffles... the motor sounds glorious and needs no fixing

i run a 3" single myself, which is also pretty cool as well

Aliga:
I got Hermosa's old setup:

TO4E Turbo
totomoto Cast Iron Manifold
Turbo Downpipe
Turbo Midpipe
Wastegate Piping
turbonetics Wastegate
Supra Turbo Side Mount Intercooler
Intercooler Piping
Blow Off Valve
440cc Injectors
K&N Cone Filter
LS400 Air Flow Meter

Things I still need to get:
walboro fuel pump,
AFC II
oil lines
maybe a head gasket, dunno if I wanna run low pressure <9 psi or go for it......

also need (optional) but really want:
TT tims
I have another set of TT front brakes I just picked up, so I would liek to take advantage of that,

But right now, my bank accoutn is down to zip

need to save up just to buy the fuel pump

I may sell my TT front brakes to get the pump and afc

Oh I also though about getting those remote activated cutouts for the exhaust
seems cheaper then a custom 3" setup.......

here is a pic of the stock exhaust next to a Supra TT Apex N1 exhaust, (thanks to BMSport)

As he told me, the route is the same, just its maybe 6 inchs too short, and the rear hanger is different.

Hes got more pics of his car with the single exhaust, if you have more Q's just PM him.

I used a apex n1 setup off a supra TT. The route is right, but we had to make the midpipe (turbo now) about 6" longer and relocate the chassis hanger a little. The supra exhaust is alot more cost effective and better for performance ihmo.

As you see there in the pic. that is the main cat in the midpipe that I'm referring to. And that midpipe is about the same as the supra midpipe. The extra length needed can be put wherever you prefer but from the standpoint of similarity between this chassis and the supra, the back section of the car is where the extra length difference resides.
The precat is part of the stock ex-manifold/downpipe assembly up at the motor. That is where the primary backpressure/choke point is, so after that you can pretty much run 3inch/75mm or larger without much problem. You may notice if anything at all a very slight bit less low end torque, but that's only if your butt dyno is really touchy.
And if you're doing a catback then you probably won't notice any loss at all, only the slight gain in upperend HP. I just built a 3" that split to dual 2.5", ending with just one muffler per side with no resonators, and it turned out nice. Sound at idle, you could barely hear a difference until walking directly behind the car. And on the road you got a nice lowertoned throatyness during full throttle but it was never droning or even severely noticeable. It's hard to get a bad sounding exhaust together on those inline 6s...they just make such nice frequencies.

why? the car sounds so good with a 3" on a turbo; and if you've got a WG dumping to atmosphere; its going to be bypassing the whole system anyways

like i said it wont work... you have to get custom stuff done; this guy was looking for a bolton option and its not a bolton option...
by bolton it means you buy it, and bolt it on with a few simple tools

Thanks for the info Bean ,
my wg doesn't dump external, it route back into the exhaust

thanks for the pics lexcoupe:

Is that a mini cat right before the "Y" section?
I know the 2 tubes afterwards are the resonators.....

There should be another cat in front of where that exhaust starts...

Default Restate and clarify

Ok, the answer to this is probably already been stated, but I'm just missing it. This is the only part of the exhaust I've got so far for my January na>gte swap: a RMM stainless downpipe (w/cat).

Question: do I need to do something with the mid-pipe?? Or do I keep this? (staying twin, bpu+)

Then, I've got to do a cat back custom or spend like $600 on something from SupraStore designed for SC3.

Comments appreciated from those in the know

That RMM midpipe you have will bolt up just fine. You can even bolt up your stock exhaust to that for now just to get around.
You can also use the very few available bolt on cat back duals such as Greddy MX, but you will be choking down from 75mm to 60mm.

If you want a nice bolt on single exhaust for the car, this place has an 80mm catback for the SC/Soarer available in the states.

For the guys that did use a supra cat back,
and the aftermarket dp + midpipe, what did you fill the gap with????

There's like ~6" to make up, did you just used a straight pipe or maybe a cat (since the mid pipe doesn' t have one) or a resonatator???

thanks
Ken

Why does this TT exhaust look so different then the one in the other pic,
the route in the other one (Apex) looks relatively straight,

while this one is bent like the stock exahsaust???
(did the Apex go under the rear pumkin instead of around it???)

thats the Apexi N1 dual... very popular on the RX-7...

in this case it has to route the extra pipe around the pumpkin; it looks like its for a supra...

that looks pretty damn tuff; i like it i like it
