Default Best suited turbo for Soarer 2.5GT-T

Hi all!!~~

I am 18 and live in Australia!! I have been currently bitten by the modifying bug and have already started modifying my car to give it that "modified" look :P

Just wondering though what would be the best matched turbo for a 1JZ-GTE engine? I was looking at the HKS GT 3040, GT 3240 and GT 3540? Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best turbo? I would like to run 11's if possible ... i do have an article of a Soarer in Japan that runs 10.6 quarter mile times with a HKS GT 3540 but the lag would be enormous!

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Cheers

I'd build a '1.5' (2jz bottom end w/ 1jz head) with the twins. At least you'll be cool with the SN .

thank you for the reply Lex Luther!!~~

I was thinking about doing the 1.5 JZ conversion ... is it difficult? what about the expenses of it?

When you say twins what twins would i use? HKS brand? Because there is a 1.5JZ with twin GT 3037s turbo's that pumps 750 rwhp!!!

Cheers

I was thinking the 2835's, as far as the 1.5 it's not difficult since you're keeping your oe head, all the wiring remains intact, it is strictly a mechanical swap. Don't know how much they bang you guys for short blocks, figure around two grand for a GTE block and about another grand or so to install it, still about half the price of the twins kit. You'll be able to surpass your goal no problem as long as drivetrain, fuel, and mgt are sorted properly, and you can drive worth a ****e.

So you think that a big single wouldn't be appropriate?

Would i be getting better response with twins fitted to the engine? Would they come onto boost earlier than a large single?

Cheers

The twins are more expensive than a big single most of the big hp cars run a single, buy your turbo with a hp goal in mind and you will also need fuel and some form of engine management.
