Default Motor mounts (already did search)

Okay i did asearch and have gathered enough info to determine the following:

-my mounts are bad and need to be replaced

-PHR and TRD make moutns for my car

-I can use mounts from a supra mk4

Here's my question... what's the cheapest route? Buying a 100k+ mile sc300 is getting expensive real quick.

It seems that the cheapest would be to buy OEM supra mounts... but the search didn't show much about what year and model supra mounts I need to get.

And i didn't find too much on the tranny mount?

CAn anyone help?

I bought the TRD mounts for the 93.5-96 supra. If you go this route, you WILL need to buy the Engine brackets for the 93.5-96 supra. They are about 2 inchs shorter than the SC's brackets or the 96-98 supra. They are VERY stiff and will be able to hold lots of power.

If you use mounts from a MKIV supra it will have to be from the 96-98 years. I am not for sure that they will work, but that is what I was told from Curt at Elmhurst Toyota. Give him a call about the mounts. He is very good at telling you what parts can be changed from a Supra to a SC. You can get the info from here www.elmhursttoyota.com

The prices for the TRD mounts are around 120$ each, and the brackets are about 130$ each.... So you are looking at $450. So it may not be the cheapest route, but it is a very good one.

thanks kevin,

Thats what i wasn't sure of... the brackets. Thanks... I'll prolly give Curt a ring soon.

Are your TRDs harsh? Or does the car still feel like a lexus?

Hey does anyone have any info on the mounts for a 400 instead of the 300. Everysearch I do comes up with stuff for the 300. I know these are a problem for old SC's and soarers and would like to replace em. If anyone has done this on a 400 could you tell me if it is something I could do myself ?
Thanks

sorry, I have never looked it up for the 400 series. I think that all the aftermarket mounts are made for the 300 only. I hope you have good luck on finding some, and let the CL world know about it.

I have an extra set of brand new unused 93.5-96 TT mounts (long ones) for sale. If you go that route, just pm me.

lemme get my facts straight real quick..:

-93-95 TT mounts will require the use of 93-95 mounting brackets correct?

-96-98 TT mounts will bolt right up to a 92 sc300's brackets... therefore all i'd need is the mount itself..

Correct. about the 93-95

I think correct about the 96-98, give Elmhurst a call, they'll know.

How do you install them? Do you just unbolt the big nut and take it off?
