i know its not the most reliable source, but you can check on ebay. I have seen a few single turbo kits for the 1jz. 99.9% of them are use, and probably coming from japan, but thats the price to pay for having a rare motor.

lack of parts? only big pieces like intake manifolds and exhaust manifolds (Which can easily be made) are what is specific to the 1jz... nearly everything else can swap over...
if you blow the block you can buy a new 2jz shortblock from Toyota for $1500 with a warranty and it will bolt to the 1jz head... 2jz pistons work great in a 1jz block too
there's a thread over at supraforums in the mk3 section in the 1jz subsection that shows all parts that swap over from various motors... the list is quite large...
just posting this because everyone says parts are hard to get and expensive; which is simply not true
