What causes 02 sesors to go - 6 in 2 years
I have had my 92 for 2.5 years and now need my 6th 02 sensor! Any ideas as to what I can do to stop these things from going. This time it's the sub. Why does a defective sensor stop the trac control from working?

as stated : poor fuel quality.... running too lean or
.... too rich - are the sensors white or black when
they are 1st removed/ same w/ spark plugs
also poor quality sensors (cheap pep boys)
you should have someone scan the o2 @
different rpm levels to see rich/lean
rich isnt a prob - too lean can cause other prob's
other option is to dyno & get the whole A/F picture

www.oxygensensors.com is the place I ordered the fronts from and they have been OK so far. They are universal? Is there much of a difference between OEM and universal, other then the price? I will probably order the sub from the same place.

I'd talked to a shop awhile back, about this, and they'd told me that the OEM units are the way to go with these cars;that the aftermarket ones just don't last.
Might try a junkyard, maybe first try to find what other vehicle/model will interchange.
Hard to imagine that junkyard parts are better than anything new, but I know that it can be true.
