r154 tranny
In japan the 1jz comes w/ the r154 tranny which is much stronger rt? I have blown through two trannies in two wks. w/ my 2jz but don't want to go w/ the getrag. Would the r154 fit in the sc with no major modifications. I've heard that the r154 will have a different shifter location and also that it will not. Someone help asap! Thanks

The R154 is a good tranny for boost and yes it did come with the 1j.
in order to get it to fit, you have to get a 2j bell housing i believe.... not 100% sure but i know the bell housing from the r154 to the 2j wont fit.
if you goto the supra boards. do a search and you will find a lot more info there.

I havent done the r154 swap i would really like to eventually though
for the record i believe it requires a 1jz bellhousing, a 1jz or 2jz-gte flywheel, a 7M clutch disc, and a 2jz pressure plate...
someone correct me if i'm wrong; i'm pretty sure there's more info at supraforums
