Oil on the plugs is not a good sign. It may be coming past the rings, but it's more likely from the valve seals. A leakdown compression test may help pinpoint it, but it sounds like at least a head teardown to find it for sure. Sorry!!!!!!!! On the plus side, may be a good time to have the head ported and polished and get that 3 angle valve job you've always wanted

i did a compression check and i got

and i was told that this is ok.
now how exactly do i do a leak down test and how is it different from a compression test,i'm leaning towards bad valves and seals, because when i cheaked the spark plugs after i re-tightened the valve cover there was no oil on the tips of the plugs, but if it actually is the valve seales i'll take the head out, so while i'm getting the new valves, what will be the best performance mods to do, i'm thinking of cams, cam gears, better springs and removal of the egr

hey you said that i should do some head porting but is that over kill since i'll be going turbo in a few months

A leak down test is much more informative than a compression test when trying to diagnose a problem. To perform a leakdown test, you set the piston at TDC (you have to do each cylinder serperately), and you use an air pump to pressurize the cylinder to about 100 psi. All motors will leak some, but if your cylinder holds 90 psi or more, you're probably in good shape. Other results that can occur are:

Bad Rings: air will blow out of the oil filler.
Bad Intake Valve: air will blow out the throttle body.
Bad Exhaust Valve: air will blow out of the exhaust pipe.
Bad head gasket: air will blow out of the radiator filler. (Remove radiator cap!)

Also check for excessive oil coming through the crankcase vent. This could be an indication of bad rings or a problem with the crankcase ventilation system (PCV valve).

It's pretty easy to make your own leak down tester. A google search will turn up lots of info.

As for cams, I don't know of anybody that makes cams for the 2JZ-GE motor, but Crower will regrind your stock cams for $95 each. As for valve train stuff, there's a guy an ebay that's been selling Ferria dual springs and titanium retainers for about 1/2 retail. If you search for 2JZ-GTE or Supra you should find them. They're listed every couple of weeks. And don't forget the ARP head studs if you're going turbo!

danm a leak down test makes a compression test look like wasted time, thanks alot, i'll go search now.
it's hard to believe that no on makes cams for that engine, as popular as it is.

Well, a compression test is quick, easy, and tells you if you have a catastrophic failure. A leak down test is more of a PITA, but gives you a correspondingly better diagnosis.

As for companies making parts for the SC, remember it's been out of production for years now

hey i did the google thing and i did'nt find out how to make one but i have a lot more understanding on how the leak down test works, so i'm thinking i can use the hoses from my compression tester and get a compressor and see what happens

Try here: DIY Leak Down Tester. This one was made for a bike, but with the right spark plug adapter, it will work fine.

You know, I had that same problem with hesitation on a Honda Civic.
When it started to hesitate on half full tank, I unscrewed the fuel cap and it was like Psssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
It had a lot of vacuum built up in there and it didnt let the fuel to be pumped out
Replaced the charcoal canister and it all went away.
I'd also check to make sure that the vacuum hoses are routed properly.

hay thanks alot i'll check it , but how does the charcoal make the car blow white smoke and hesitates.
i do get a strong gas smell, but the car feels like it runs on 5 cilinders, then if i rev it for a while or drive hard it'll go away

hey i did a little more reading and i found out that other people have the same problem, and someone said the cause could be a bad injector ground where it makes the injector stay open.
does this sound right , i cheaked everything else and it all cheaked out, so could it be the injector.
he said if it was the injector that it would sound engine would make a poping sound, and it does .
and also fuel consumption is like 3-5 miles a gallon when the car acts up.
