My muffler setup need suggestions
I have looked around this thread for different types of muffler setups after reading thru about 20 + PAGES i didnt find the setup i was looking for , the picture below shows two small cats and resonators removed the piping from the headers is increased to 3 in to an aftermarket highflow cat , and then from the cat 2.5 in to the aftermarket magnaflows , i was looking for a corvette sound that throaty deep sound but i dont want it to be a a 1970's camaro ss sound thats too throaty tell me what you guys think of this setup.

So 2 dual 3" into a 2in/2out convertor then out to 2.5" duals to magnaflow. That will still be pretty loud. I have 2 3" convertors into dual 2.5 piping into my carbon fiber mufflers and they are load. I would suggest the route listed on planet soarer. 2 2.5 high flow cats into xpipe or hpipe into dual 2.5 piping w/ resonators into the magnaflows. If you want louder remove the resonators but leave the x pipe.

If you are just going for sound, just remove the center resonator and get some new mufflers.
There is no reason to redo the entire exhaust. From your design, it looks like you'd actually hurt performance.
Or just record a corvette's exhaust and blast it through the sound system. A blank cd is like 18 cents

To be serious, I think using a single hi flow cat as your merge area is a big mistake. It is quite likely you are going to have a decrease in performance.
From a pure fluid dynamics standpoint, you should have 2 cats instead of 1.
I would really suggest you try different muffflers and the center resonator if you are going for sound. There is really no need to replace the cats and all that piping if you aren't really interested in performance gains even if they are minimal.
