Turning off Traction Control
Hi, I am a new member on this board.
I own 2 1986 corolla gt-s, a 1995 supra NA, they are all RWD.
I am able to lose traction on all except my sc400. Ever since I got my 1993 sc400, I have been trying to "drift" my sc400.
Anyway, can anyone tell me how to turn off the traction control. If the traction control can not be turn off by the ecu, I will disable it by other means.
Thanks

Look on the console to the right of the shifter. Push the "trac off" button and you will disable the traction control until the button is pressed again or you restart the car.
As for drifting, if you really want to get the back end free you might want to look for a "positraction" rear end so that both wheels can get power to the pavement evenly. I'm not sure, but the Supra's rearend should have what you want. With the stock rearend, the wheel with less traction will just spin.
Check for posts on this in the Suspension section.
Happy drifting!

you could remove the trac control relay in the engine bay its the box with 4 large relays.
2 are for ABS and 2 are for Trac control, however all 4 may have abs written on them (they are the same type of relay more or less). you could remove the 2 for the trac, i believe its labeled inside the cover for the relay box. you may get a Check engine or Trac light, and you alone are completely responsible if you mess anything up.
