Default swap question

planning on doing a swap. i have a 92 sc300 5spd. will i run into any trouble swapping the 2jzgte+6spd in? or is everything just bolt on? ive found a place that can get a ttsupra front clip for 4500 is that a good price?

The 2jz-gte engine is a direct bolt up swap. USDM or JDM front clip? Supra clip or Aristo clip? Stick to stick swap? Variable exist there. The engine is the core of what you are getting into, but there is more. You need to get more acquinted with the "search" feature, everything you need to start to educate yourself has been covered here and at the supraforums.

ive answered almost all of your questions with my original post. yes its jdm. i wanted to know if i will have any trouble swapping it into a 92 seeing that the 92 5-speed came with the mk3 supra tranny it may be different since the 6-speed getrag is bigger than the r154 of the mk3s . i just want someone to clear this up for me so i can go ahead and get the clip. and yes ive searched!!!!!

No trouble, challenges, yes, though it is swapped routinely. I am in process of doing a JDM 2jzgte swap into my 5speed SC300, The six speed bolts up directly, though I am not doing that yet. There is some pounding you'll do around the shifter hole in the tunnel. See quickturbo's post https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=w58
, the key to the search is using the word w58 if you haven't already.

The drive shaft has to be changed on the SC300, you'll need the 6-speed rear end, one of the half shafts is a different size. So you've got areas to address away from the engine.

If I read your post correctly, you seem to think we have the rl154 transmission, that is incorrect, all manual SC300's came with the w58. Quote from http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html "The SC300 comes with a Toyota W58 5-speed manual transmission (available from 1992-1997)."

Get that clip, that is a good price. Where in CA are you located?

i am located in oakland. ok cool i have the w58 early edition? when i took my trf quickshifter from my supra to try to put in my sc300 it wouldnt fit and i assumed that it was a different tranny alltogether since the early 92-93 shifter looks alot like the mk3s shifter. i guess i should stop thinking about this since its confusing myself even more.. thanks for your help.
