Why am I maxing out at 85MPH
This is odd, I have a 94 sc3. I'm at redline if I pass 85MPH. Sometimes when i floor it, it passes redline before it shifts also. I adjusted the idle level too.. its the lowest.. is there a sensor messed up? or is that my tranny screwing up? Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

redline at 85 mph means youre not shifting. I would assume its auto? Not sure what would cause the problem, but i would guess torque converter, valve body, or ecu is going. Dont think it has anything to do with the idle being adjusted. Any big power mods?

Hmm, interesting. When that was happening to me I only had the car for a few days and wasn't using the "ECT PWR" mode because I didn't know any better (this was over 2 years ago)...I know you've had your car for a minute so you should know about that. maybe it is the TC as he suggested, if so that's scary because it's a pricey fix...they have to go into the damn tranny to handle that...$$$$$$$$$

Check all the controls around the shifter...ECT PWR mode as mikeloc suggested or even overdrive. It sounds like your tranny is just refusing to shift. The first thing i would try would be a complete flush of the tranny fluid and a new filter. It may be clogged so not enough fluid is going through the valvebody so it is not shifting correctly. Thats would be the first thing i would do to avoid the cost of dropping the tranny to check to TC.

This may sound crazy but did you change your instrument cluster lately?? I know for an absolute fact that when I put a modified sc4 cluster in my sc3 the rpms (visual not actual) are off up to 1800 - 2200 at high speeds.

Thanks for all the replies guys. This is my 2nd SC, and I know not to drive with the ECT PWR on or it'll burn all the gas. I already flushed my tranny and replaced the filter. I haven't done any major mods to the engine and my cluster is original in and is in great shape. I was afraid it was the TC. Does anyone know the aproximate price for this to be fixed? And what has to be done? They going to replace it?

This can get really pricey real fast. Dropping the tranny alone is already a couple hundred dollars then diagnosising and addressing the problem will cost even more. First things first, get the opinion of a qualified mechanic before any work is done.
