Default Getting rid of some cats

I was down at the local car shop who said they could take out some cats from my exhaust, how many cats exactly are on the stock exhaust. I think i saw 5, 2-1-2 and then mufflers. They said it would add close to 10hp. What do you think?

Question Getting rid of some cats

Sorry for posting to an old thread but...

I just bought an SC4 and was wondering the same thing. Mine has 2 cats flowing into 1 down the center.

Have you (or anyone else) removed that center cat and replaced it with an X pipe? Don't want to flunk emissions in New Jersey.

Any help would be appreciated!
