Default Engine Question

Hey everyone. I know you all are going to say use the search, but there is too much info to weed through and I just need a straight-up answer.

How much do 2jz-ge engines w/5-speed tranny run? I'm thinking anywhere from $1000-2000. Also, how much do you think it would cost to replace an engine w/auto tranny to a "new" engine with a 5-speed tranny?

Thanks.

You are correct on your price of the motor, and on the swap you would save money and headaches just selling your car and buying one that is already 5 speed.

Swap can be costly, just do what Ebanks said and you can avoid the headache.

By the way,

Well, I am thinking about buying an sc300, but the engine has high mileage (over 200k). I figure I can probably update the internals on the engine, but I reeealllly need a manual instaed of automatic. Is it really that much of a ****** to swap the auto for a manual?
