VVT-i isn't just the head, it's the ECU too, and I'm gussing a butt load of sensors along with it. For all that work on a head swap, swaping the GTE head would provide better results

Unless you're going for the all-motor thing, in which case you should sell the 300 and get the 400, bore and stroke it out to 4.9 liters like another member did.

From looking at the inside of a GE head, I really think you'd be hard pressed to find a better design. The ports are direct and decently large, combustion chamber is standard (read: good) pentroof, good valve angles, valve guides don't protrude obscenely into the ports...only benefits to a GTE swap would be that it'd be that you could bolt up a GTE manifold, but there are plenty of places making GE manifolds now..kinda same for vvti swap, would be a neat project if you liked wiring, but doubtful you'd see much in the way of power gains unless you had a way of manipulating the vvti..

From what i have heard the GE head has a better design than the GTE head. It flows much better. The only thing that holds it back is the intake manifold. But that can be taken care of by an aftermarket one. I have the GE head on the GTE block with the stock intake manifold in case your wondering.

yes, the GTE head doesn't flow as well, but my point was turbo. With the GTE head you'd obviously bring the turbos and the intake manifold.

Yes, it's more work than just buying Dave-H's GTE style intake manifold for the GE head, but he wants info on swapping heads, and I'm just telling him don't try to go all motor.

the gas mileage information along with many of the questions you have been asking can be found on www.intellexual.net

I would also advise you to do some searching because the answers can be found very quickly that way.

as for the gas fill up.

gas price * tank capacity = total cost of fill up.

stay dual -- the car looks odd with a single exhuast.

Sure you will, several ppl are considering doing this swap right now. Not a weekend project, but there are definitely benefits to be had.
