I think what Nasty and me are getting at is that your logic using ~180 hp and 14.7 psi to calculate a hp to pressure ratio is wrong.

What you need to understand is:
1) power and pressure relationships are not linear
2) We can't only use atmospheric pressure. We need to focus on filling rate, flow.

I have a degree in biomedical engineering which concentrated on mechanical engineering. I have taken courses in Thermo 1&2, Fluid dynamics, and Heat transfer. Many of the ideas you state are correct, but you aren't applying these theories correctly.
