Power Plan... The Best Path?
Well, time has come to replace my turbos (got one blown) so those will hopefully be fitted next week...
But since I was trying to save up for an FMIC kit, the money's going towards the turbos instead, so my options for the Soarer now are:
* Front mount intercooler
* Supra injectors (440cc should be fine for lowish boost applications yes? I'm planning to run about 14psi for the time being)
* Fuel computer (A'PEXi S-AFC or GReddy eManage to control ign as well)
* Boost controller (GReddy Profec e-01 or A'PEXi AVC-R)
Which is the best method to go first? I wanna prolong the engine from any other damage (ie. high boost causing an engine meltdown or something )...
Anyone got some 440 or 550cc injectors lying around?
Jose

id say injectors/pump and fuel controller first to make sure you dont lean out on the dinky stock injectors and fuel pump. the stock smic is plenty. one supra fourms member made 500+ rwhp on the stock intercooler before he went fmic. it works fine at any level but just starts to become a restriction at higher boost levels. as far as a boost controller, i believe manual boost controllers can be had for around $75US. are you going single or replacing the blown stock one?

rscott,
Thanks for that I'm stuck between upgrading the injectors first or going a FMIC first (I'm still using the stock ECU so boost is restricted to 14.5psi (1bar limiter))... fuel computer etc. will come in after these mods.
Dewsc300,
Let me know

550cc supra injectors would be nice; there's a way of doing it
fyi remember 1jz's use side-feed injectors,the 440cc high impedance from a JDM 2jz-gte are drop in but the 550cc from a usdm 2jz-gte are low impedance but still side feed (get a resistor box)
i'd get a greddy emanage since it can run another pressure sensor and allow fuel /ignition control over 1bar plus tune up those 550s as well; thats enough for 500rwhp anyway
In your choice of order however, I'd run a FMIC first then do the fuel then do a bigger turbo; whether thats a single (using the new merge pipe or a nice equal length manifold) or upgrading the interals to USDM 2jz turbos, thats up to you

Hi Bean,
That was my plan for more power, but when other things start failing you gotta get em fixed So the reason that I'm getting new turbos is because my stockies (one of them) decided to blow. I'm really looking at getting a FMIC as I don't plan for boosting much (mostly tootling around suburbia) and when money permits upgrade the fuel and boost management systems and fuel system. Would you still recommend getting a FMIC first or fuel system? It seems that the stockers can go well for a while (and I'm most likely gonna be getting 440cc injectors, not that easy to find 550cc's here in Australia it seems).
