From what I've been told, some of the biggest weight savings can be made by replacing the doors on our cars. One professional racer told me he weighed the door frame alone on each side at 62 lbs, not including all the additional components of the door.
I wouldn't remove the rear trunk spoiler. It cuts the drag coefficient down from 0.32 to 0.31. For just 6 lbs, its well worth it.

The plan for my sc400 is full strip, 5 speeds are lighter from what im reading, 1 piece drive shaft, replace seats with fixed buckets, sound deadening (should weigh a ton considering my fc had well over 60 pounds of it), rear seat delete, cd changer, spare, cruise control, emissions crap, relocate battery to rear passenger area to offset balance, and deleting that huge hydraulic fan!!! And probably rock no hood for drift events.
Only real additions to weight I'll be adding down the road will be a cage and some custom crash bars to replace the bumper supports. This is all in the works currently. Unfortunately I only have my iPhone and no computer to make a build thread with :sadface you guys think it'll get me under 3k without me in it?

When I purchased my 93 back in May, the prev. owner had bought a heavy duty group 27 battery that comp. fills the battery tray and weighs 48lbs. I sold it and bought a group 26 from Walmart 540 cca weighs 25 lbs. Spins the starter over as fast as the big battery and have lots more room around the battery tray area. Had to do slight hold down mod. to use the stock battery hold down, now looks O.E. Weightloss of 22lbs. Cost $49.95 & tax.
