back seats upper and lower- 25.5lbs
spare tire-52lbs
jack and all that stuff-8lbs
the new seats i put in were 24 lbs each i believe. so ive done pretty good i think with very few things
isn't the back seat one piece? Maybe I'm thinking just the leather and foam... what other piece of the back seat did you remove?

Also it's been reported that stock heated, leathered, power seats weigh 74lbs without rails... did you weigh yours with the rails or without rails?

thanks

That's a nasty crash pic, hope it was fixable.
I'm going to have to yank my driver's seat once again and re-weigh it; I swear it wasn't as much as I'd been told/thought it was.

Here's a few pounds; remove the windscreen washer bottle, I never use it anyways, if the windows are dirty, wash the car.

Last weekend I put my rollcage in (FINALLY!!!! ) and while mounting everything up , I came to realize the carpet is HUGE!!!!! well maybe not the carpet but the Foam layer underneath the carpet is huge. if your really looking to save weight... take out the carpet on the interior... my goodness the foam under the carpet was more than an inch thick in some areas ... spread that out across the whole car and yikes!!!! I mean the car is quiet inside and I really never understood why it was so quiet when outside it sounded so loud. Also the sound deadening/undercoating under the foam/carpet, the chunks I had to break off to mount the cage was nothing like the undercoating they use in 240's or AE86's it was like 2 to 3 times heavier and thicker as well.,luckily in the winter a light blow with a hammer and it cracks apart. This would be another savings if your really worried about weight. Anyways no matter what weight saving I made before I just added a bit of weight with the cage but the car transfers so smooth now on the limit, was definitely worth the install

Regarding the washer tank.

Mine was taken out to make room for an oil cooler. I did not weigh it, but it is huge and holds a lot of fluid.

I replaced it with a little fluid reserviour bag with pump from JC Whitney. The pressure is a bit weak for use >70mph but it works and saves space and weight.

Ok, I hope this is not too off-topic. While all of us are overly concerned about how weight adversely affect our handling, I notice that there are MANY high-end sports cars and exotics out there thay weigh alot more than our car. The Skyline GTR R34, Ferrari 550, Lambo Murcialago, Mercedes SL, Aston Martin, and many more weighing considerably more than our SCs. Yet, almost all of those cars are serious still competitors despite their weight.
