New 2 the board and pulling a swap
Just wanted to introduce myself and see if i can get some help/contribute/etc.
I just picked up a SC300 only 3-4 days ago. Its a 5sp and tooo damn stock.
I had an RB powered sil80 and this N/A stuff is truely for the damn birds.
it just so happens i imported 2 MK3 supra clips as well......you all see where this is headed. ive done the searching and am doing the reading but this engine needs to go NOW...cause suffering DT's from lack of boost. any links to wiring would be great or any small details that might be helpful to minimize down time. I have no problems with electrical or mechanical expertise. Plus it be nice to publish the How to for this vehicle. im trying to knock this out in almost record time for a company car to go with other projects is another motive.
thx in advance for your help and i am still using the search button
just trying to find pinouts for the
Pls do not post do the 2j instead(saw that quite a bit already)

one thing noted was the differences in oil pan. via a picture of a pan comparison and swapping of the water pumps between 2j to the 1j. sending units for certain items vary also. being that this is on a supra base id have to check it all against my 5sp SC.....which i hear is a rare animal itself.
hopefully i can get under the dash and compare the plugs.

The soarer wiring may be a bit easier since it is out of the Japanese version of the SC. Not sure what kind of aftermarket is available since the bolt patterns on the head are different, so the pre-vvti 1jz stuff doesnt bolt up to it.

lol hahahha
VVTi is a nice engine for stock, but AFAIK there aren't many upgrades for it, there is a whole lot more for the earlier 1JZ motors.
Still, VVTi would be nice
