One single massive snail....

Cali SC dudes need more boost...period.

Lee, I would love to put my car under the knife - but I'm afraid to blow my motor with over 283K miles logged on it. Then again, I could pull out the sucker and beef it up before turbocharging it. Who knows, I'll have to wait and see because they are promoting to Service Consultant soon.

LOL. you're the perfect candidate withh 283K miles! on my motor. i have just hit 120,xxx.

i'm doing some researching now. i know that if i start out small, i'm gonna get greedy. i only want to do this in one shot, not going back numerous times to get it fixed.

Lets not forget installing of the turbo system will be around $1,000 to $1,500 additional to the kit itself. Most turbo kit for the V8 will require the motor to come out. Most mechanic shop will charge around $800 to $1200 to take the motor out and in again. Besides the motor, then installation of the intercooler, pipes (some cutting might require), oil line and oil drainage and along with misc parts.

If the turbo kit is $6,000, make sure you have an additional $1,500 for the labor part. The total cost might run up to $7,500. Make sure you budget yourself not thinking $6,000 is all you need.

I have some time today and did some welding, but before i show you the SC400 Single Turbo Header. I want to remind what i did few months ago with my Single Turbo LS400.

Here is the initial picture of the LS400 Single Turbo. It looks very raw and rough.

Here is the final product after Tig weld, Ceramic Coating and installation. Its night and day. Its a total make over.

Here is are some pictures on the SC400 Single Turbo. Lextreme Version of course. Ryan will have different setup. The pictures below are raw and rough just like the LS400 Single Turbo Project. However, with Tig Weld, Ceramic Coating and installation then it will look like the final product like the one above.

This system will be awesome with a Garrett GT35R. The 35R is ball bearing and will spool very fast.

Hey Lextreme,
You live in Cali too and u know the smog inspection right. What is the point of having a turbo and unable to pass the inspection.

if you don't know how to pass CA's smog with turbo, this even contemplating boost is not for you. You'd be stressin' about where to get a smog check.

Turbo outweights smog inspection by far. hehe
