oh man.
i am also in boston, allston to be more exact. and im dont even have a sc400 but after reading this thread i am seriously thinking about getting one and doing the exact same thing.
i have a wrx and a corolla gts, originally from california, so are the cars. i plan to sell wrx and getting a sc400 or sc300.
without going turbo, how much horsepower do quick sc300 get? which parts do sc300 owners?
i would love to have over 200rwhp out of a SC300 or sc400. i would like to do so for around 10k including car.
i have seen 92 sc400 for as low as 6000. that would leave 4k for the tranny swap and engine mods. if i went sc400 route i would get headers, full exhaust, and stand alone ecu dyno tunned.
not sure about what options i have for sc300.

i need clutch type lsd for this car! and so does VSC

why you must machined bellhousing down 3 mm?
it is from tranny or engine side?
can you say more about that?
thanks
Jerry

it was on the bellhousing (tranny) side.
We shaved it down because the clutch wasn't biting down. Basically clutch wasn't biting down on the flywheel enough so we shaved the bellhousing down to decrease the space between the flywheel and the clutch disk.

the other issue was that even though it was specified that the bellhousing I was ordering needed to be for a LHD car they still made it for a RHD car so we had to modify a lot of stuff to make it fit.
