Dennis,

Hey man! Had completely forgotten about this thread. Was excited to see you had her up and running - only to get to the next page and see you blew a seal.

Big for your perseverance. Get some pictures when you can.

Regards mon amis,

Jonny

So there was the big question how the car would handle not having transmission since the SC400 has just 1 ECU that controls both transmission and Engine.

Well, I have a check engine light, the O/D light blinks constantly, TRAC light is on.

So I'm going to get rid of TRAC.

Just got MAP ECU to replace the S-AFC.

As promised I'll dyno the car before I do anything else to the car.

If not, then it won't work.

I know if you check out www.i-supra.com or SF, they have a bolt distribution pattern for the trannies and the R154. You can also try www.*********** for more info. I will keep an eye out for you just in case. I hope this helps for now.
I feel like a dumb *** for ask this question but all 1JZ-GTE engines had R154 transmissions?

Wow this is Crazy Awsome!!! I just joined so I could Find more about this Swap from the American side as all I have found were details about Australian or NZ. Conversions

I have an 85 Celica ST with a Blown 22RE and I have this 1994 1UZ-FE Motor/Harness/ECU. I want to make the Celica a Serious Sleeper and have the Cool V8 Sound. I have an electrical genius friend who can help with the Wiring But the Mechanical I am on my own.

I want to just find a way to mate the 1uz-fe to the stock w58 I have in my car. I am not looking to go out and break things (Yet). But these Cars are so common and the Engine Fits in the Engine Bay from what I have researched. Lots of Cool Upgrades can be used from the Supra as well.

I would love to own a LS400 as I like the 4dr for some odd reason. A 5sp in one of those would be cool but I think there would be Pedal and Shifter issues as they never were intended to be a Manual transmissioned car and only were equipped with a V8.

What is the other thread called which has the list of parts needed to run a 5sp behind a 1UZ-FE? I guess I am not looking in the right place??

Thanks, and !!PLEASE!!! keep updating us on the car as this is a GREAT Write up and Should be STICKIED if it hasn't already been done so.

You can get a bellhousing to mate a W58 to a 1UZ from NZ (http://www.a1turbos.co.nz/bellhousing.html) or Australia (http://www.rodshop.com.au/bellhousings.htm)

The bearing that took a dump is on a 3 week back order....

once that's in, I'll have to break in the setup again.... another 500 miles of granny driving...

Hopefully it will be soon.

sorry for the massive delay.

What do you mean stock throwout bearing? from a SC300 5speed? SC300 5speed throwout bearing and R154 throwout bearing are different.

If you check the 1st post of this thread, you should be able to get most of the parts. Parts will be different from R154 to W58.
My mechanic who did the swap said, W58 swap will be way simpler and easier than R154 swap.

Well there are 2 different variations (there may be more but I know of 2)
One was equipped with the MKIII supra turbo models and had a short tailshaft design (attached to 7M-GTE engine) and the one that I used was out of a soarer (1JZ-GTE) with the longer tailshaft.
