Im going to be doing the bushings this weekend, Once im to the exposed shifter, all I need to do is pull the shifter straight up? Thats all? no bolts?

And then the green seat goes in, does it need to be a certain way?

Then the white bushing connects to the bottom of the shifter, and thats all?

Easy mod, the improvement was very noticeable. Shouldnt take you more than 5-10 minutes.

I still dont know what everyone is talking about. All I see is the white plastic round shaped piece with a small rubber ring around it. Does anyone have pics?

I'm planning on going na-t, my clutch is stock with 180k miles and its hard to push(for a stock clutch) and the sifter is doing exactly the same things as you were describing.

did the replacement last night - and WOW the results are amazing. The green seat was disintegrated into a green/black fine sand, which was clogging up the spring in the shifting mechanism, and was a mess to clean up. overall the procedure took about an hour, cost under $20, and has been my favorite mod thus far.

The shifter setup in the models with the W58 (1995+) is totally different. I haven't tried to replace the part in question on my '95, but I have seen the shifter assembly and it doesn't seem that this applies to the W58.
