air bag 1992 sc 400
just had my cluster rebuilt, and dealing with air bag light light. did diagnostics and received no blinking code error 22. took to electrical shop who hooked up to computer and they report code 41 error, and more time needed to fix.
doing the recommended step i had cancellation of air bag light but it would not stay off. now there is no cancelling at all.
figured i would take it to the dealer to get rammed, or seek and destroy bulb.
any further thoughts?

I've seen random codes come off out of nowhere and need a battery reset and you never see them again. Perks of a 20 year old electronic computer. Personally I'd pull the bulb after all the false codes I have seen in SC's over 7 years.

Replacing the diagnostic port
When you finish resetting the air bag light or giving up, you need to replace the dlc2 which is impossible. You have to remove the panel under the dash by loosening three phillips screws and then its a piece of cake to insert and turn the dlc2. Mine hung loose for several weeks before I discovered this.

I set up a three way switch using a marine battery connector (OFF, 1, 2, BOTH) and switched between 1,OFF,1,OFF,2,OFF,2 for my double taps to (1) TC & (2) AB and got no response from the SRS light aka air bag light.

I am either going to try Thang's electrical method of resetting the SRS light again with the three way switch which is what I was trying to replicate unsuccessfully with the switch I described above, BTW, the switch I used is spark protected.
or use the mechanical means of resetting the SRS light:
1. Disconnect the battery and step on the brake pedal for at least 10 seconds,
2. Unscrew the 4 screws behind the steering wheel,
3. Unplug the yellow cable for the airbag and just for good measure leave the airbag unplugged overnight,
4. Plug the airbag back in the next morning and screwed it back on, and
5. Reconnect the battery and the airbag light went away.
O.L.T. had, years ago, described this as a dangerous procedure but some Forum members have used it with success.
Are there any other suggestions?
