Hey thats me and Thomas in one of the pics!...This project was a total team effort I must say..Everyone glady chipped in and got the research done before anything...The exhaust sounds amazing! I'm surpised that its louder than anticipated but it has a nice deep growl nonetheless..Project done right! Too bad it wont be the last tim we'll be goign back to the shop, once the TURBO gets working under the hood we'll be even more excited to go back and get 3" pipes..

anyway to post a soundclip of the exhaust? I have heard the 14829's on the back of sc400's but never on a sc300.

Default What Magnaflow has 3" inlets?

I'm going 2jz-gte BPU+ and want 3" inlets on the Magnaflows. Also want low to moderate sound. Any suggestions?

resonators? no way you going to get subtle sound with 3' inch inlet unless you ahve something to block the sound..its oging to be loud regardless...

Question What 3" MagnaFlow works??

Well, umm, yes SC400, I was thinking that the 2jz-gte twin turbos are going to block the sound...

The engine before and after turbos is going to be quieter on the same exhaust with the turbo's in place, turbos noticably mute exhaust note.

Back to my original question, anyone installed a 3" inlet Magnaflow (what model?). If not, whats the point of the posts by aliga, aLL STaRh, The S saying that Sleeper should have gone with 3" pipes if you jam them up into a 2 1/2" inlet to your MagnaFlow??

At that point you've lost the flow benifit of the 3" pipe right at the bottleneck of the 2 1/2 muffler inlet? What am I missing?

I don't think anyone here has 3" piping with the 14829 Magnas..The closest thing I can think of is SW's (StreetKing) TT SC but he has different mufflers..You can find vids of his car if you do a search and it's not exactly quiet..Sleeper's car is NA at the moment, we do have plans for turbo next spring or summer, I don't see the benefit of going 3"inch piping with NA..

If not, whats the point of the posts by aliga, aLL STaRh, The S saying that Sleeper should have gone with 3" pipes if you jam them up into a 2 1/2" inlet to your MagnaFlow??

Maybe it's 4 am and I'm seeing things, but I don't get what your trying to point out here..

well i would think that dual 3" exhaust would be overkill unless he's gonna be running like a 4" downpipe, midpipe, etc etc. but if he's gonna go 3" from the turbo to the mid area, then those 2.5" duals pipings will be fine.
