Yeah, that spike defies all usual theories.
It's not the injectors maxing out, because they do fine after 4K RPM.
It's not the fuel pressure falling for the same reason as above.
That spike is the ECU saying "F U Alan...I run this show!"

Well F U ECU, you're getting replaced.

bahahah, LOL! Nice powerband BTW. Hopefully the AEM should take care of it. Just make sure whoever tunes it knows what they are doing, cause now your'e in a new ball park. When my Supra got "TUNED", 2 days later i ended up melting 3 sparkplug electrodes and the car would missfire with ANY boost. And all this was with a "SAFE" 13:1 AFR. So yea just watch out. Who is going to tune your car?

I'm starting off with a nice conservative fuel/ignition map, automapping using my wideband, adjusting the map a bit more up top, and once I have fuel just perfect, I'm gonna take it to someone who knows timing well because honestly, I don't.
I'm gonna use every possible precaution (knock based control, AFR based control, etc..)
I don't like other people messing with my car.
I'd much rather learn and do it myself (even if this is the hard/expensive way).
Once again, I take more pride in a self-tuned 300hp car than a professionally tuned 500hp car.

Thats true, when your ready to have someone take a look at it or tune it, hit up Dyno Extreme, in Stanton. There right by Super Autobacs. They have a guy, Justin Nenni i believe, that comes down once in a while just to tune A***s. From what i've heard he's one of the best around SoCal. Good Luck staying at 300hp, you'll get sick of it. Once you get used to 300hp, you're gonna want more and more power.

Too bad I'm up here in NorCal.
Not many SC300-Ts around here which is kinda cool I guess but at the same time not too many decent tuner shops.
Bruce Nomura has a spot in the East Bay (about 45 miles for me) so if I were to pay someone, I'd probably take it there.
I've heard of Justin and his work. From what I understand, the pricing is reasonable as well.
I wish AEM would have classes for everyone, not just for distributors and official 'tuners'.
I'd rather pay for the class than for the tune.

If you go with AEM, a professional tune is highly recommended.
I'm gonna try my own tuning, but I'm starting with a decent map and might still take it to someone.
