Can A Sc400 Convert To A Manual 5 Spd Or 6 Spd?

So, if I'm looking for a 5 speed SC400 (U.S. spec car) where can I go directly for more information? I saw that Signal something or other was mentioned, in California? URL? Basically I've driven one SC300 with a 5 speed without any kind of mods, and thought it was a "nice" car, but not "sharp" enough for what I want. Shift was a bit too loose, handling was a bit too vague, sound was too quiet, etc. And, for what Lexus designed the car for, I suppose they hit the nail on the head. But what I want is a more visceral, on the edge, more exhaust sound (not buzzy buzzy, but melodious, maybe even a couple of "burbles") and the driving/sound/handling/experience to make it FUN to drive. I have a perfectly nice '88 300E for a daily driver and it handles surprisingly well with no mods, and has enough power for most situations. I don't necessarily want a 1/4 mile beast, but the extra power of the V8 in the SC400 would be a nice plus. That, maybe some suspension mods, a 5 speed, and I'm good to go. But, where oh where can I find what I'm looking for?

Do you already have an SC400??
For what it will cost you to turn an SC400 into a manual, you could sell the 400, buy the 300, drop in a 1JZ - then have more power than the 400 + have a 5 speed.

anything is possible if you have the right people doing it it can be done give me in a shop with all the right tools and supplies and i will put a ls1 in a crx .ewery body was crying about putting a 1j in a sc 400 i did .jt jerry did it if guys are puting these engines in 240 and rx7 and old school rwd toyotas why it could'nt be done to a 400 .people jus talk because the have a hole in their head .its up to you if you want to convert your 400 to stick .jus hope you are mechanically inclined and have patients
