AEM EMS 30-1100 (Supra TT) on SC300?
Hey guys, I know the Supra TT EMS will work but what are the major differences in them? I found a Supra TT EMS for a whole lot cheaper than the Supra NA so now I'm wondering how much work do I need to do to make it worth it? I think I read somewhere about a difference in the way it reads the ignition signal or something along those lines. And is the wiring differnet too? Dont remember exactly, thats why I'm here

Do yourself a favor and buy the right application. We can rewire any application you like but it will cost money. BTW, we have a TT unit in stock ready to ship.

under a grand thats why I'm asking. How much would it cost for you guys to rewire, JP? Also, can the SC300 version run distributor-less coils? Eventually I'm gonna get rid of my distributor so I'm just wondering. Almost 100% it can, just wanted someone to confirm

Either one will work distributorless.
The wiring that has to be redone is not inside the AEM box, but at your wiring harness.
My harness for example is really simple to rewire because with a small screwdriver and a tille tug, each pin comes out and can be relocated to wherever you want.
If you're mechanically/electronically inclined, go ahead and purchase the 1100 unit.
All you have to do from there is get your hands on an accurate pinout of the stock ECU in you car (your year) and then using the pinout AEM will provide for their ECU, move the pins that need to be moved.
Good luck.

Hi Jason,
I was searching the forums for help, and your name came up as the guy to talk to! I have a '96 SC300 5spd, with a single turbo, and an AEM 30-1100 (because I went distributorless).
The car is running great, but I have a few niggling little problems my tuner can't seem to figure out. I'm hoping you can help!
1) The tach doesn't work. I thought I remembered a thread about this awhile back, but can't find it now. AEM recommended using an MSD tach adapter, but that didn't seem to work... Any suggestions?
2) The A/C doesn't turn on. I've read conflicting threads on this, add a 1k ohm resistor, change the pins, etc. Any definitive advice?
3) The AEM doesn't seem to be turning off the main relay. My tuner thinks it's a problem with this specific unit as he got the same result trying it in a Supra. Any way to fix it or work around it?
I'd really appreciate any help you could give. My tuner is at the end of his rope!!
You can reach me directly at wmulli@optonline.net if that's any easier for you.
Thanks!!!!
-Mike
