Default Problem after BFI build(UPDATE CODE 31)

Yes, I searched with no luck.

Now here is my problem. I built the BFI along with replacing the power steering pump. I went to test drive the car and the check engine light was on and when I floor it when the rpms reach 1900-2000 it bogs and I about slam my face into the steering wheel.

To be as specific as possible I also cleaned the Mass air sensor and the throttle body and as much of the upper intake I could.

I know the torque converter is btw those rpms. Is there a vaccum line i missed. Please help me out. Thanks!

Is your car a SC300 or 400.

If it is a 300 make sure the where the 3 metal vacume lines that connect directly into the TB are clear. I had the same problem because they were clog. There are 3 very small hole that go into the TB. I just sprayed some TB cleaner though the metal line to clean it up and my car runs just fine now.

Hope fully you did not damage the MAS when you cleaned it. I hear pros and cons about cleaning it.

If your car is a 400 I do not know much about them.

Hope this helps.

I have an SC400 and I am getting code 31 which is the mass air. So what the heck did I do wrong and is it fixable.

I found a thread on here were owners with hesitation problems (like me) sprayed the MAS with the specific cleaner and had no problems.

Please any help would be great.

Mass Air Flow sensors are extremely sensitive, especially to cleaning chemicals. Unfortunatly, the only way to troubleshoot is to either get a different one to test on your car, or take yours to another car. It could be a loose connector, but im sure you would have found that out by now. If you do decide to bring someone else's MAF over, be sure to clear your ECU codes before you try to pull them again
