the secret to going fast on a n/a car when you have a small budget is JUICE an drag radials. those are the main things that help you out the juice gives you the power an the drag radials make shure it gets to the floor an stays there with out sliping.

Hey i know it probably wouldn't be much but the MAF looks realy restrictive is there another lex or toyota out there to replace the SC's with. to get better flow.
I do know some of the supra guys use the AEM MAF eliminator kit. but most just use their new ecu's to get rid of it. Anyway just another idea to throw out there

I don't think you will be surpassing the limits of your MAF without some form of forced induction.

I know I'm bringing back a thread from the dead, but it had some very useful information. I never had a turbo'd car and I'm looking to have a built NA 2JZGE and remain ALL motor.

I know it's not very cost efficient, but in a project, what is. I'm looking to do a lot of the work myself. I still have to research everything, but to start I plan to do:

Port and polish a used 2JZGE head
Port and polished intake manifold (or aftermarket manifold)
Aftermarket cams, cam gears, head gasket
Optimized (or bored out) throttle body
Custom cold air intake
Thermal coated headers
Single catback exhaust
Lightweight flywheel, LSD, clutch
Lighter seats, weight reduction

It's ALOT of work but all this would make one hell of an ALL MOTOR 2GZJE

There's a reason there aren't a bunch of high compression high strung big cam NA 2JZ's around.

^^^ Ya, I'm still thinking about it and debating which route I should take. I was on the supra forums and they were discussing the same topic there in the NA section: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=507491

They basically said the same thing, and you'd want to go turbo or swap

I agree with most of the comments all of you have posted. Going turbo is the easiest way to go fast, and the 2JZ-GE is sooo easy to turbo. You can do bolt-ons if you like, as long as you can justify to yourself that it was a good investment. I'm running MVPMotorsport's header with 80mm exhaust and I love it! Realistically, I'm not going turbo anytime soon. But I wasn't gonna rock around in a stocker either.
I DEFINITELY wouldn't waste money on, say the OBX header on eBay, if I planned on going turbo within a year.
