I must say the extending the wires took longer than the engine swap itself.. I will post details on this swap if anyone would like I will also include pictures and step by step instructions . I will post as soon as I write it up.

what did you do about the knock sensor?

how much did each wire need to be extended?

Harness needs to be extended 18"-21".

I went and bought some heat shrink today at Home Depot, but I guess I should go back and buy the rest of what thay had, hehe

What type of wire did you use? Can't wait to see it man!!!

I bought 16gauge but the OEM wires are 18 or 20 gauge with like 2 thicker ones.
When extending the wires 18" I desides to do it in 2 spots so I wouldnt have a big knot later. so I did half in the middle of tha harness behind the cam cover adn the other half by the plugs. I left the knock sensor extending by the plug . the original wire reaches into the cabin just not all the way to the ecu so I didnt use shielded wire. some people dont extend the harness, I cant see leaving the ecu dangling where its not supposed to be. I sold my cluster because I thought I was getting JDM .
BTW, I think the temp gauge is just a matter of finding the right resistor to install on that wire. b/c it goes up half way when you turn the key them goes to hot after car reaches normal temp. so finding a resistor to lower the needing about 60%. Tach I have no idea. on 89-90 240sx with srswap you can either get 91+ tach or install some msd tach thing.

can you give me a more detailed description on the knock sensor wiring extension?
I'm understanding that you extended it? And you made the extending near the plug (on the engine side? not the ecu side?)

I would still use shielded wire since various RF waves might be able to interfere with the signal even when under the carpet/dash, etc

I extended the wire from the ecu side. the soldered end is about 4" in the cabin.
