So let me get this streight. Your friend is running TH400 with 4.2:1 ratio rear end. Wow! That must really suck!

Strange I don't consider the th400 option "pure drag". I've driven mine many times on the street w/ the auto rearend (3.76) and love it.

And I don't believe topping out at 120mph is entirely accurate. It depends on several varibles.

I am pretty sure you are wrong about the topping out at 120 mph part. It really depends on your setup. Obviously if someone is running 4.2:1 ratio rear end well that's just plain crazy. A local guy, Mike Carlin is running TH400 with 3.1:1 rear end (Supra TT 6 speed) and he most definitly not topping out at 120 mph.

This should provide details:

TT transmissions can get expansive too after you brake three of them. Not to mention to built it up you will have to pay around 3200 dollars.

Good point! But, I'm sure the Pro Street guys overcame that issue years ago with the monster blowers on the tubbed 13 sec. street cars. I'm sure the technology now can deal with that . Then again, I've been wrong before

Our supra drag car will go 159 @ 9K with 28" tall tires. It has the supra auto diff (3.73). SW's old 95 supra would go 154@ 8500 with a 6 spd diff (3.27) on 26" tires. I have also installed a Gear Vendors unit behind a BL400 strictly for cruising. It kicked the rpm back by about 600 rpms.

All race transmissions are manually shifted.

Maybe I misread this but by this statement your implying the th400 is a race tranny? I consider a Lenco or Jerico more-so of race tranny then the th400. The th400 is on the extreme side of a reliable streetable tranny for the sc/supra imo.

Also had a question on the GV setup. Have you done any WOT testing with it? Or just cruising tests?

Hey Jeff. They haven't tested it at WOT to my knowledge, but it's rated to like 1200hp. It's a tough unit.
